Advantech Launches MIC-770 V3 Industrial Edge Solution Focusing on Industrial AI and Supporting NVIDIA L4 GPU

  Advantech recently released a new GPU edge computing product, the MIC-770V3 modular industrial computer, which can be used with the i-Module series GPU expansion module MIC-75M20. This high-performance product is compatible with NVIDIA L4 Tensor Core GPUs, supports 7,424 CUDA cores and 24GB GDDR6 GPU memory, while consuming only 72W of power. In addition, the product has been verified by NVIDIA® L4 GPU NVQual and is suitable for multiple scenarios such as smart factories, autonomous driving, automatic optical inspection (AOI), AI prediction of medical equipment, smart city monitoring and transportation. It can support deep learning and edge reasoning while also giving full play to its own high performance, flexible expansion, and compact design. It is an ideal choice for your AIoT solution.

  High-performance compact design with flexible scalability

  The MIC-770 V3 is equipped with the latest 12th generation Intel® Core™ i processors, based on the open source x86 platform, which can accelerate the development of GPU acceleration solutions.

  By adopting the MIC-75M20 2-slot i-Module expansion module, it is compatible with the NVIDIA L4 Tensor Core GPU, with small size, energy saving, single slot, 72W low power consumption and other features. These features make it an ideal choice for AI edge computing and reasoning, providing energy-saving general acceleration for AI reasoning operations, imaging and graphics applications, helping enterprises deploy in the cloud, edge and space-constrained environments.

  Innovative modular design, suitable for a variety of industry applications

  The MIC-770 V3 adopts a modular design, and the front panel of the Advantech i-Modules module and rich I/O interface design achieve functional enhancement and greater flexibility.

  When used for autonomous driving, the PCIE-1674 visual acquisition card can connect to 4 cameras. Similarly, it is connected to the lidar system through 4 GbE Flex I/O (98910770301) ports. After completing the distance and shape detection of objects in the environment, the data is passed to the NVIDIA L4 GPU, and 3D model drawing based on graphic analysis is flexibly realized.

  Remote management for seamless edge AI computing

  MIC-770 V3 supports iBMC 1.2 edge intelligence solutions to simplify remote system and edge device management. By leveraging the remote out-of-band (OOB) management technology of iBMC hardware, Advantech's WISE-DeviceOn solution can be used for both in-band and out-of-band management systems, truly enabling comprehensive access, configuration, monitoring, and analytical control of IoT network assets on a single centralized platform. In addition, even if software or operating system failures occur, enterprise IT and OT managers can still remotely control power (via reset/forced shutdown/power on/off, etc.), perform remote system recovery via Acronis or hardware, trigger SSD recovery, and check operating status. These features can solve 90% of system failures without sending maintenance personnel to the site, greatly reducing system downtime and operating costs.

  Professional heat dissipation design supports stable and reliable GPU computing

  MIC-770 V3 uses NVIDIA L4 GPU, and the machine operates at a temperature of 0 ~ 40℃ in harsh environments. When the temperature reaches 40°C, the dedicated server-level air duct design improves the heat dissipation of the GPU operation, and can maintain the GPU operating temperature below 70.5°C to ensure excellent performance and clock frequency retention. In short, the professional heat dissipation design of MIC-770 V3 provides 30.3 TFLOPs computing power for the device operation, and the power consumption is only 72W.
