WOODWARD Discrete I/O Module 5464-365
This module is a simplex discrete input/output unit. This device is produced by Woodward and is part of the MicroNet digital control series, which can also be used with Vertex Pro chassis. The typical hardware used in this unit is MicroNet Plus hardware. This module can be used for both simplex and redundant systems. This module can be used for any chassis module, whether it is eight slots or fourteen slots. Please note that the location of this device must be non hazardous or within the range of Class I, Zone 2, Groups A, B, C, and D, with 48/24 discrete combination modules, which means there are 48 inputs and 24 outputs. This module has two configurations. One of them consists of two 24/12 discrete FTMs, which are connected to the module through two high-density discrete/analog cables. The discrete inputs on this module will be optically isolated and can be accessed through 24/12 FTMs in the second configuration.

There is only one LED on the front panel indicating a potential fault. There are also two connectors on the module. The 5464-365 module is considered outdated as Woodward no longer produces it, but it can still be found in new and second-hand surplus products. If you want to purchase this module,
Function
Description
5464-365 is a discrete I/O module developed by Woodward. These modules are inserted into the card rails of the controller chassis and connected to the motherboard. Two screws (one at the top of the front panel and one at the bottom of the front panel) secure the module in place. There are also two handles at the top and bottom of the module, which, when moved (pushed outward), will move the module far enough to detach the motherboard from the motherboard connector.
install
Connect the input module to the appropriate network and 24 Vdc power supply and install it on the DIN rail. If necessary, the input can be wired using an internal+24V connection or an external 24V power supply. Connect discrete inputs.
Set the module address one and ten rotary switches according to the application settings. The system allows for real-time replacement of faulty nodes. When replacing nodes, it is necessary to maintain good network cable connections.
By removing the two terminal blocks from the connector and the node from the DIN rail, the faulty node can be disconnected from the network. The address switch of the replacement node should be set to match the address switch of the faulty node.
Afterwards, the replacement node can be installed on the DIN rail and the terminal block can be pushed into the connector socket. To restart communication with the controller module and clear the no message fault, the node must be reset using the application program.
