　　The GE Fanuc IC698CHS117 RX7i I/O rack is specifically manufactured for the Rx7i PACsystem series. The IC698CHS117 rack is a wall mounted 18 slot I/O rack designed specifically for VME64 backplane systems and advanced power supplies.

The bandwidth strength of this I/O rack is four times higher than that of a standard VME backplane system, thus providing faster I/O throughput. The IC698CHS117 rack supports GE Fanuc Rx7i CPU, Rx7i I/O modules, 90-70 series I/O, and all standard VME modules. It has slot sensing functionality for rack mounted I/O modules and is equipped with programming/configuration software, eliminating the need for DIP switches and jumper configurations. All Rx7i racks adopt an open design and must use IP 54 standard enclosures or higher to be safely used in industrial environments. It is a front or rear mounted rack mounted chassis with 9 module slots. This rack can accommodate various RX7i and 90-70 series modules and CPUs. Each module connector on the rack backplane is spaced 0.8 inches or 20.3 millimeters apart, and each slot can accommodate a single width module. Each dual width module occupies two rack backplane slots. Slot 0 on the backplane is reserved for power supply, while slot 1 is reserved for programmable logic controller CPU. The remaining backplane slots can be used for various single width or double width combinations.

　　The IC698CHS117 rack supports high wattage Rx7i power supplies and Rx7i AC power plugs. The rated power of its power supply is 350 watts, with a current rating of 4 amperes at -12 volts, 12 amperes at 12 volts DC, and 60 amperes at 5.0 volts DC input. The IC698CHS117 rack has 18 I/O slots and can support up to 15 single width I/O modules (without any dual width modules), 8 dual width modules, or a combination of dual width and single width modules. The slot numbers of IC698CHS117 module are 1 to 18, with an average slot width of 0.8 inches. Slot 1 is always reserved for the CPU. The double width RX7i CPU with embedded Ethernet card uses slots 1 and 2. Slot 0 has a slot width of 2.6 inches and is used for power modules. The IC698CHS117 rack is configured using the highly intuitive C IMPLICITY Machine Edition Logic Developer PLC software based on Windows, which provides users with a graphical interface to configure I/O addressing.

　　The RX7i rack is considered an "open device" and must be installed in an IP54 secure enclosure. The dimensions of this rack are as follows: the height is 11.15 inches (283 millimeters). The width is 12.6 inches (320 millimeters). The depth is 7.25 inches (184 millimeters). If a cooling fan is to be installed, an additional 9 inches (23 centimeters) of space is required between the racks.

　　If the following modules are installed, cooling fans are required: IC698CPE020, IC698CRE020, and IC698PSA350. There are three types of cooling fan components available, each suitable for different power sources. IC697ACC621 fan is suitable for 120 VAC, IC697ACC624 fan is suitable for 240 VAC, and IC697ACC644 fan is suitable for 24VDC.

　　To shield the grounding RX7i module and equipment, please ensure that the top and bottom panel screws are securely connected to the housing. For 90-70 series modules and equipment, the grounding clamp will make contact with the conductive rail during installation. For safe grounding, please use AWG # 12 wire to connect the stud installed on the side of IC698CHS009 to the ground.

　　To reduce the impact of electromagnetic interference (EMI), please ensure that the power supply is securely installed. Use AWG # 12 wires with ring terminals and star washers to connect the GND terminal on the power supply to the terminals on both sides of the rack, and connect the rack GND terminal to the ground.
