IC687BEM713 GE communication module

  IC687BEM713 is a redundant communication module that provides a path for synchronous messages from active units to backup units. Then, it is used as a way to synchronize dual CPUs in FIP single rack redundant systems. This also allows for the transfer of shared I/O data between two units. The actual physical connections between units of the FIP single rack redundant system can include a maximum of 3 feet of total interconnecting cables. Compatible CPUs include IC697CFR782 and IC697CFR28.

  The IC687BEM713 redundant communication module occupies a single slot in the rack and contains two connectors. The upper connector is used to connect the bus transmitter module, while the lower connector is not used for this purpose. There are five green LEDs indicating the health status of the RCM module. They also monitor the control status of the hot standby CPU redundancy system.
