EPRO PR6426 CON021/916-120| Eddy Current Sensor
In the case of sleeve bearing machines, the shaft separates from the bearing material through a thin oil film. Oil acts as a shock absorber, so the vibration and position of the shaft will not be transmitted to the bearing housing through the bearings. It is not encouraged to use shell vibration sensors to monitor sleeve bearing machines, as the vibration generated by shaft movement or position is greatly reduced through the bearing oil film. The ideal method for monitoring shaft position and motion is to directly measure shaft motion and position through non-contact eddy current sensors installed inside bearings or bearings. PR 6422 is commonly used to measure the vibration, eccentricity, thrust (axial displacement), differential expansion, valve position, and air gap of machine shafts.

Eddy
Current Displacement Transducer Specifications
The PR 6422 is a non-contact eddy current transducer with a rugged construction and designed for extremely critical turbomachinery applications such as steam, gas, compressor and hydro turbomachinery, blowers and fans.
The purpose of a displacement probe is to measure position or shaft movement without contacting the measured surface – the rotor. In the case of sleeve bearing machines, the shaft is separated from the bearing material by a thin film of oil. The oil acts as a dampener and therefore the vibration and position of the shaft are not transmitted through the bearing to the bearing case.https://www.axcontroler.com/
The use of case vibration sensors is discouraged for monitoring sleeve bearing machines since the vibration produced by shaft motion or position is greatly attenuated through the bearing oil film. The ideal method of monitoring shaft position and motion is by mounting a non-contact eddy sensor through the bearing, or inside the bearing, measuring the shaft motion and position directly. The PR 6422 is commonly used to measure vibration of machine shafts, eccentricity, thrust (axial displacement), differential expansion, valve position, and air gaps.
Epro CON021+PR6423/010-030
CON021+PR6423/010-030 is a combination of an 8mm Eddy Current Sensor (PR6423/010-030) and an Eddy Current Signal Converter (CON021). The Eddy Current Sensor is used to measure the thickness of a non-ferrous material, such as aluminum or copper. The Eddy Current Signal Converter converts the output signal from the sensor into a standard voltage signal that can be read by a PLC or other controller.
The PR6423/010-030 sensor has a measuring range of 0 to 30mm and a repeatability of ±0.02mm. It is available with either a male or female threaded connector. The CON021 signal converter has a 4 to 20mA output and a voltage output of 0 to 10V. It also has an RS485 interface for communication with a controller.
The CON021+PR6423/010-030 combination is a popular choice for thickness measurement applications in the manufacturing industry. It is a reliable and accurate sensor that is easy to install and use.
